Hello there y'all!
How's it going?!
We're back with another spectacular edition of the Wanderlust Wednesdays.
Whether you travel for fun or for work, there is something about the entire process, from choosing the destination to packing up your bags and heading off to some place, the feeling you get when you are on the road is inexplicable.
This Wanderlust Wednesday takes us to the Wallaman Falls, Girringun National Park in Queensland.
The Wallaman Falls are located 51 km southwest of Ingham, North Queensland. To reach the park, you must travel west from Ingham along Abergowrie Road to Trebonne. A sturdy vehicle is recommended on the road, which tends to get slippery when wet.
The Wallaman Falls are the tallest, permanent, single-drop waterfall in Australia, boasting a drop of 268 metres (879 feet). Once you get to the Girringun National Park, there are tons of things that you can do there. The national park has a vast variety of flora, fauna and animal life. Plan an excursion around the rainforest, look at the majestic trees and set up a camp-site near the Wallaman Falls to enjoy nature at its finest.
Everything you need to know about the park can be read here: http://nprsr.qld.gov.au/parks/girringun-wallaman/index.html
Packing for Wallaman Falls:
An important thing to keep in mind while planning a trip to the Wallaman Falls is to make sure that everything, from your duffel bag to your backpacks should be waterproof so that all your important belongings are safe.
You will also need an umbrella! We recommend the Go Travel Dry Bag Umbrella, a non-drip umbrella with a 100% waterproof handle.
Might we also suggest the Lonely Planet Dry Accessories Pouch, in which you can store things like cell phone, wallet, gadgets and other things you need to keep safe and dry.
If you plan to go camping, make sure you pack mosquito repellents along with everything else. We're sure you don't want itchy hands and feet while rejoicing the beauty of the Wallaman Falls.
Wherever your wanderlust leads you, the only things that matter are the memories that you make. So whatever you do, have fun when you do it, enjoy it to the fullest and smile!
Happy Travelling :)
